Real Madrid brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold on a long-term deal

Trent Alexander-Arnold's recovery is advancing according to plan, raising a chance that the Madrid defender may return in time to play against his old club Liverpool in November's Champions League encounter.

The 27-year-old player suffered a hamstring strain while playing against French side Marseille in the group stage of the competition on September 16.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off the pitch in the early stages, with early reports indicating a possible absence of as long as a month and a half.

Real Madrid are scheduled to face Liverpool on 4 November for the European fixture—just over a month since the injury took place.

Sources familiar with the situation state that the defender's recovery is moving along favorably, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold might make his initial comeback to Anfield after joining Real Madrid in June.

A devoted Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier stated that leaving the team he joined as a young youth player was the "most difficult choice he has ever made."

During his tenure with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold accumulated 354 games, helping secure multiple English top-flight titles, a Champions League, and the domestic cup.

Since moving to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has appeared five times across all competitions, logging over two and a half hours of playing time.
