19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.

Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is really nice," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, including in Halle in the past months.

The player's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on court had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and play aggressively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.

Both players traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.

The opponent defended 4 early-game opportunities in a close third set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
